Here are a few interesting ways brands are using their Facebook pages and apps to connect with
their customers this holiday season.
Kohl’s launched their Dream a Little Dream Holiday campaign that consists of the Win a Dream Sweepstakes.
Kohl's will pick up the tab from one lucky shopper a day from every
Kohl's store from now till December 24. Here's how it works:
The first person who is exiting a participating Kohl’s Department
Store at the randomly pre-selected time will potentially win the sum of
their cash register receipt up to a maximum of $5,000. If the shopper
did not make a transaction then he/she will instead win a $75.00 Kohl’s
Promotional Gift. Kohl's is also running an online version of the game
On top of this sweepstakes, Kohls's is donating $1 to Toys for Tots,
up to $500,000, for every new person who Likes Kohl’s Facebook Page from
Nov. 23 through Dec. 24. Fans will also receive exclusive offers and
can help select items to go on sale.
FedEx is offering a ‘Ship to Friends’ app
that enables people to ship packages directly from the FedEx Facebook
Page. People can then share the news that they've given friends a
package. FedEx is also still running their Small Business Grant Contest
and recently announced their top 100 Finalists. You can view their
stories now and then come back on January to see who the Grand Prize
winner of $25,000 will be along with 5 winners of a $5,000 grant.
The Gap has their Pin To Win Wish List Sweepstakes
in which they are inviting fans to pin one of the provided gap images
to a board on their Pinterest page. Each pin gets an entry into the
random drawings that are taking place each week up till December 28.
Five weekly winners will each receive a $50 Gap gift card.
The Gap has also teamed up with Postagram on their Be Bright page
which offers fans the ability to send their own Facebook, Instagram and
mobile photos as real, printed postcards to friends free of charge. The
cards are delivered with a pop-out square photo and a message from the
Macy’s created a My Macy’s timeline app
which enables people to discover products and sales, create shopping
lists, Like and share items with friends and share that they've "shopped
for" particular things. Macy's also has brought back their annual
holiday Believe donation campaign in
which they will donate $1.00 for every letter received to the Make a
Wish Foundation up to $1M. At this time they have received 674,150
