MediaPost’s OMMA Global New York is coming up this month on Sept. 21 -22 which takes all of their separate one-day OMMA conferences and rolls them into one big, two-day super-conference. It covers the trends, issues

I’m now really excited about this because I just found out that my blogging mentor, founder and leader of the Lip-sticking blog and dear friend of mine, Yvonne DiVita, will be speaking here at one of the main stage sessions.
Yvonne will be part of the panel on Mommy Bloggers – What It’s Like
When Marketers Really, Really Want You. In the blogosphere no group has
caught the imagination of marketers this year as much as the Mommy
Yvonne will be joined by other women who are also familiar with
connecting with this very influential group such as Carol Cain, Managing Editor of NYCityMama.com, Liz Gumbinner, Publisher & Editor-in-chief of Cool Mom Picks, Sarah Hofstetter, SVP, Emerging Media & Client Strategy at 360i and Kate Thorp, CEO, of Real Girls Media. The panel will be moderated by one of my favorite columnists, Katharine Taylor who writes for MediaPost’s Social Media Insider.
The theme of this year’s OMMA Global
is Welcome to The New Socialism where they will review today’s world of
social networks, social media applications, micro-blogging services and

For those of you not familiar with Yvonne she is the founder of a company based here in Rochester, NY, Windsor Media Enterprises,
In the last 6 years, she has been talking with and listening to women
via the Internet as they share their frustration with the way most
marketing campaigns treat them. Because Yvonne’s focus is online, she
has also been studying the social media environment as it pertains to
women, bringing a smart business and family focus to her work in the
women’s market, via her Lip-Sticking blog.
Yvonne is also the author of Dick*less Marketing: Smart Marketing to
Women Online, a book about creating a female-friendly website that Jane
(the now grown-up icon of those 20th century days of “Dick and Jane”)
will shop at, over and over.
As most of you that read my blog probably know, I am one of the five women bloggers who regularly write on the Lips-ticking Blog. I also am very excited to share with you some news that I have been
working with Yvonne on the launch of a new and expanded Lip-sticking
branded site. So stay tuned for information. Hopefully we’ll be launched by OMMA Global.
I hope to also be attending OMMA Global and I just submitted a request for a press pass. Us starving bloggers can’t afford the full conference fee. If I attend I’ll will be writing about the many great sessions and speakers such as Magid Abraham, CEO and co-Founder, comScore, Scott Monty head of Social Media at Ford Motor Company and Twitter extraordinaire, Frances Allen, Brand Marketing Officer for Dunkin’ Brands and the one-and-only Danny Sullivan from Search Engine Land.
Back to Yvonne… she speaks regularly on social media topics and currently
works with clients such as Nestle’ Purina, who sponsors her pet blog, Scratchings & Sniffings, the Simon Graduate School of Business, where she manages several of their blogs including the Womens Entrepreneurs blog, as well as dozens of solopreneurs. You can follow her on Twitter @y2vonne and @lipsticking.
Please let me know if you’ll be at OMMA Global and would like to meet with Yvonne and hopefully me as well! Please MediaPost!!! It would make a great birthday present.
