We’ve had a recent flurry of activity launching promotions for a July 1 start. Seems that brands really want to get their name in front of potential customers this summer. Here are three that each have their own unique differences.
First is the Geyser Peak and Jarlsberg Cheese Recipe Contest. This promotion combines two of my most favorite things to enjoy the summer with, wine and cheese, especially on the 4th of July holiday! This is our first promotion for parent company Accolade Wines who has a pretty large portfolio of wine brands besides Geyser Peak that include Hardy’s, Banrock Station and Echo Falls.
Geyser Peak has partnered with Jarlsberg Cheese on this contest who are inviting participants to submit a recipe using Jarlsberg cheese for a chance to win $2,500 from Jarlsberg USA. A panel of judges will review the submissions and determine the winner based on originality (50%) and simplicity of preparation (50%). We’ve built and are hosting the entry page for them and will be accepting submissions up till September 30. I hope to be doing much more work with this sponsor in the near future. So stay tuned.
Besides eating and drinking over the 4th of July holiday many people use the extra time off to get some home and garden projects taken care of. To help attract this audience, True Temper has launched their True American 4th of July Sweepstakes on their Facebook page. We’ll be drawing four winners who will each receive a set of True American® tools which are made 100% in the USA! True Temper is another new client who we are planning to do many more promotions on Facebook with them this year.
Shopping is another favorite American past time over any holiday and this promotion from Bliss Flooring is targeted to those who are looking to spruce up their home. The Bliss Indulgence Canyon Ranch Summer Sweepstakes in offering a chance to win a truly all-expense paid trip to Canyon Ranch Resort in Tuscon, Arizona along five second place winners who will each receive a $500 American Express gift card. Plus everyone who enters will automatically receive a $100 rebate coupon good towards the purchase of any Bliss Flooring product.
The Canyon Ranch is a award-winning destination health resort and spa. The prize package includes a 5-night stay at the resort for two along with a $700 allowance per person to use towards a variety of services offered by the resort and round-trip air to get them there. The Beaulieu Group, the parent company of Bliss Flooring, is utilizing the sweepstakes to gather some insights on their prospective customers. We’ve included a few optional questions on the entry page we’ve created for them such as when did you purchase your last flooring product and what was it as well as asking if promotional offers influence their decision.
The $100 rebate coupon automatically comes up after the person has submitted their entry on the confirmation page. We programmed this coupon so that the info they submitted on their entry form (name, mailing address and email address) is already populated in the coupon. This way they don’t have to hand write their information on the form and it makes it much easier on the retailer’s end to approve and accept the offer.
So there you have three different promotions and three ways to spend your 4th of July holiday. I believe I’ll be doing a combination of all three over this weekend. Enjoy!
