Today's was my day again to be the guest blogger at Lipsticking.com, so please hop on over and join me . This week I'm continuing my coverage of interactive holiday promotions with this post about another great viral marketing promotion. It's Sephora's Mistletoe MakeOver, a virtual website that's a fun way for women to try on the hottest makeup trends.
One of my favorite digital marketing agencies, EVB San Francisco, came up with this idea and executed it along with TAAZ.com, the virtual makeover website. It's their best work since the very popular ElfYourself.com holiday viral marketing campaign. So please check out this campaign here.

The idea of virtual fashion makeovers is intriguing. A great way to sample. The ulitmate version of this is the full makeovers using avatars in virtual worlds e.g. Second Life.
And with a makeover experience what are the two things that can make you feel better?
#2 is chocolate. What is #1?
Music.
We have found that a driver for traffic to promotions and a catalyst for conversion is when the marketer to offers free music downloads, from a branded solution.
The customer comes away with something tangible that they love (music)and the relationship with the brand and the idea of the makeover continues.
And of course people pass along information about free offers making it inherently viral.

With the right marketing ad, especially viral marketing, huge success could be obtained. A successfully posting on Youtube or a high rank webpage would yield millions of viewers on a daily basis.

There are some amateur internet marketers that think about renting domain names for promoting their sites. Well honestly it’s a bad plan but it also can be a good business idea.
