I'm back from my extended 4th of July Holiday. I hope everyone was able to enjoy this wonderful summer
celebration.
Earlier this year ePrize introduced Caffeine...a web-based promotions platform that
gives marketers the power to build their own customized online
sweepstakes,
instant-win and coupon-based promotions on a pay-per-lead basis. It's really targeted to small businesses who don't have the budgets for big prizes and web-based development. I first wrote about it in my blog back on April 1st when I interviewed both Alesya Opelt, Marketing Director for ePrize and Aaron Chestnut, VP of Marketing for Fathead, who is a Caffeine advertiser. So, check it out for more background on this.
The whole idea really intrigued me so through my company, DDC Marketing Group, I became a Certified Distribution Partner of the Caffeine platform and I've been running one of their instant-win games both on my blog, as you'll see in the right-hand sidebar, and also on my website. I wanted to try it out for awhile and see how it works before I started promoting it to clients. They're on their second phase of promotions and I think they've worked out some of the bugs from the first phase, so it's time to start promoting it.
Now ePrize has decided to promote Caffeine by partnering up with Entrepreneur Magazine to launch a interactive promotional contest called the "Entrepreneur and Caffeine Marketing Jolt" where businesses have the opportunity to win a "Online Marketing Makeover". Now through August 31st companies can enter the contest online here at Entrepreneur's Marketing Jolt promotional site and submit an essay about their biggest online marketing issues. So, here's everyone's chance to win a free Caffeine powered promotion that they can run on their website or blog for free.
The contest will be judged equally on four criteria: originality, business criteria, entrepreneurial spirit and grammar. The winner will be announced and featured in the December issue of Entrepreneur and receive up to $20,000 in products and services. These will include running a Caffeine powered promotion for 6 months or up to 100,000 entrants including 10,000 emails and 100,000 coupons. Also included is up to 30 hours of consultation from Caffeine experts, 6 months of search engine optimization from Awecomm web strategies and graphic design services to update your company's logo. Entrepreneur is kicking in a three year subscription to the magazine and a selection of books from Entrepreneur Press.
ePrize Founder and CEO Josh Linkner stated "We created the ‘Marketing Jolt’ competition to inject Caffeine directly into the marketing veins of a business that shows exceptional potential to overcome extraordinary online marketing problems. With a Caffeine promotion, the winning business will experience a buzz among consumers at a level that it’s never been able to attain before. This promotion will engage the business in new opportunities and drive amazing results through one-to-one marketing.”
Entrepreneur Editorial Director Rieva Lesonsky said "Today consumers carry their media in their pockets or around their necks, and they are poised for interaction every second. The Caffeine Marketing Jolt contest is designed to help one business demonstrate the full strength of that interaction through an energetic online promotions program.”
Unfortunately since I'm considered a Certified Distributor Partner of Caffeine, I can't enter the contest. But I encourage all other small businesses to enter and take advantage of the opportunity. It really could give a new start-up company a great marketing boost. Good luck and we'll report back in December to announce the winner. By the way, go ahead and play my Caffeine game if you haven't yet.
